Medicare and Your Therapy
All psychologists and Mental Health Nurses working at Resilienze For Life are registered and have Medicare provider numbers, bulk billing is offered to all clients and you are able to claim on your private health cover also. The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society provide membership and registration information for our practitioners. and, enabling you to claim a Medicare rebate for your counselling and group sessions.
To claim bulk bill rebates, you must have a referral, in the form of a Mental Health Care Plan, from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician. Eligible people can receive:
- 10 individual counselling sessions in a calendar year. However, your referring doctor is required to assess your progress after the first six sessions and make further referral for the remaining four sessions.
- 10 group therapy sessions in a calendar year and you do not need a new referral for group therapy sessions.
You must obtain have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your doctor prior to your first therapy appointment and bring it with you to your first therapy appointment in order to be eligible for Bulk Billing at this clinic.
If you, have a Mental Health Treatment Plan there will be no out of pocket fees.
If you are using your private health care to fund treatment the out-of-pocket fee will vary and the information about how much you will pay can be found on .
CBT Groups do not require an additional GP referral if you already have a current referral. If you do not have one, and you wish to claim a rebate, you will need to get a GP referral before attending the first class.
Note that you do not require a referral from a GP unless you intend to claim a Medicare rebate.
